Wish my title was a more apt pun for this small and mundane newsflash. I've switched summer jobs. On Monday I start at the Boys and Girls Club. It was a sweet deal and a favor to a friend and though I felt a little out of place mingling with the perky and emotionally open staff, these last few afternoons have confirmed my decision to go. (Today I intentionally sprayed myself off with a hose...I always forget about Utah summers.)
Connie thinks that this signals a commitment to work with youth. Aside from the unintentional shudder that the word "commitment" always rouses, I hope not. ...we'll see.
