Every fifth word Max says is McDonald's, Chuck E. Cheese's, swimming, or zoo. It is utterly infuriating (for Max, too). Yesterday he fell asleep in the car on the way home from the Zoo. When we pulled into the garage he woke up and said "I wanna go Zoo." When we pick up Lucas from kindergarten at 11:00 am, Max tells him "We going to McDonald's." Luc falls for it every time. Max is relentless.
I have given up feeling bad for saying "No" to every fifth word that comes out of Max's mouth because I now have a new theory about what informs Max's reality: Groundhog Day. I think that Max believes he is in an infinite loop of Max's Best Day Ever, a cycle of said restaurants and activities for his delight and satisfaction. This theory makes me feel better, because instead of being a lame, negative Mom who clearly never does anything fun with her kids, I am just an extra in the movie of Max's life. I'm just playing my part. I wonder what happens when he wakes up to a new day. Hopefully it will be a new movie with no Andie McDowell.

He could do worse than Andy McDowell, couldn't he?
You've seen her acting? Nothing is worse than that.
Hmmm, I definitely don't hate Andy. Sorry! Just had to throw that out there. Totally hilarious about Max. I love how he is pranking Luc already.
I still can't listen to "I've Got You Babe" without thinking of that movie, which drove me crazy by the way.
(second. I have deep aversion to any non-indie Bill Murray. I take a lot of guff for that stance, but stand firmly by it.)
