Summertime
You know all those horror stories about endless hours of mandatory yard work with Dad, and it's like July, and there are acres of rosebushes and even blood holds no sway? I definitely missed out on that. Also, I've never sodded. I'm not sure how that happened, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with being younger and maybe something to do with the blonde hair? At any rate, this is what I was thinking about today as I was pruning, weeding, raking, and stuffing 4 industrial-sized garbage bags full of broken twigs and dead vines. That and how excited I am to have my own garden and yard. I love this stuff. Love my scratched-up arms and sunburned lips and oddly cracking neck. I love the before and after shot: this area is no longer a weed-infested wilderness, instead it's an oasis of order and calm.

Funny how things you consider work at one time in your life can become so enjoyable! I love working in the yard now too! What a fun summer job! If you are ever at the city park, stop by and say hi, or give us a call and we'll come see you in action!
